Traffic Barriers

Automatic Boom Barrier

Usage:

A traffic barrier gate, also known simply as a barrier gate or boom barrier, is a physical barrier used to control vehicular access to a specific area, such as parking lots, toll booths, residential communities, or industrial facilities. These gates typically consist of a horizontal arm or boom that blocks the entrance or exit of vehicles until authorized access is granted.

  1. Detection: When a vehicle approaches the barrier gate, it needs to be detected to initiate the gate’s operation. This detection can be achieved through various methods, including loop detectors embedded in the pavement, infrared sensors, or vehicle tag readers.

2.Authorization: Before the barrier gate is raised, the system verifies whether the vehicle is authorized to enter the premises. This can be done through manual input by a security guard, presenting an access card or key fob, entering a code on a keypad, or using a vehicle tag or transponder.

3.Gate Operation: Once the vehicle is detected and authorized, the barrier gate is activated to allow entry. The gate arm or boom is raised vertically, clearing the path for the vehicle to proceed. In some cases, the gate arm may swing open horizontally instead of lifting vertically.

4.Entry and Exit: After the vehicle has entered the premises, the barrier gate remains open for a predetermined period or until it is manually closed. For exit points, a similar process occurs in reverse: the vehicle approaches the gate, is detected, authorized, and then the gate is opened to allow exit.

5.Automation and Integration: Many traffic barrier gate systems are automated and integrated with access control systems, ticketing systems, or vehicle identification technologies. This automation streamlines the entry and exit process, reduces the need for manual intervention, and enhances operational efficiency.
